Current Events

  Reading- We will be reading Light Game and Short Shadows, Long Shadows.  We will be working with finding the main idea supporting details.

            Religion- We will be reading about Advent and attending a short service celebrating the start of the Advent season.

  Phonics-Final stable syllables will be introduced this week.  There will be no homework on Thursday.

 

   Spelling-New lists will come home today.  The next test will be Tuesday, December 8th.

 

Math- We will be working on adding two digit numbers without regrouping, taking the next assessment and fact test, and working on the doubles + 1 facts.  There will be no homework on Thursday.

English - We will continue our study of verbs this week, focusing on past tense verbs.

 

The toy drive begins November 30th and runs thru Thursday, December 3rd.  We are looking for age appropriate toys for first grade children.  Thank you so much for your help.

The December book orders came home last week.  You can order on line or send in your paper orders no later than Monday, December 7th.  Let me know if you would like me to hold anything for you.

Hopefully, you saw the letter that came home last week with details about the Christmas Program.  It will be next Wednesday, December 9th at 7 pm.

We will be going to the Benjamin Harrison Home on Thursday, December 3rd, right after Mass.  We will tour the home and make a wooden soldier ornament.  Lunch will be eaten when we return to school around noon.  Students can bring their lunch or buy a school lunch as usual.  Please make sure to return permission slips with $2 to cover this trip.  Thank you to Mrs. Werlinger for chaperoning!

Looking Ahead...

Immaculate Conception Holy Day Mass at 9:00, Tuesday, December 8th.

Christmas Program December 9th.  1:00 dress rehearsal (all are welcome) 7:00 program in the Green Street Church.
